Foodie Lovers

A stay at the Derby Arms is a real treat for ‘Foodies’ with award-winning food that places great emphasis on quality, local and seasonal ingredients.

Our Food

Our award winning menu of British pub classics and seafood specials celebrates seasonal and regional produce.

The Derby Arms is especially passionate about seafood, making the most of the day’s catch on the special’s boards. Special events are held regularly including Champagne Dinners, Lobster & Friends, Seafood Dinners, and Steak Nights which are all foodie evenings including tasting menus, sharing platters, cooking demonstrations and producer presentations. Specific request pre orders can be made and, if in season, will be sourced and prepared to your liking.

Whether it’s a pie and a pint on a Tuesday night or Specials and Champagne at the weekend, we want to be your pub of choice for every occasion. .

Foodie Activities

Cheese Dairies

There are two cheese dairies located within a 20 minute drive of the Derby Arms. Butler’s Cheeses is a family run business with local favourites including its Burland Bloom – a British brie, and Mrs Butler’s – a creamy and full-flavoured Lancashire cheese. Dewlay Cheeses are a 3rd generation family run business, specialising in Lancashire cheese varieties. Committed to sustainable practices, their factory is powered by wind turbines.

The Little Town Dairy

A couple of minutes’ walk from the Derby Arms is the Little Town Dairy. Visitors will find a butchery counter, range of dairy products and a tearoom. It prides itself on providing the highest quality produce, home-reared Aberdeen Angus Beef, Gloucester Old Spot Pork and Bowland Lamb and dairy products such as yoghurts, crème fraiche and ice-cream.

Holmes Mill

Holmes Mill is home to Bowland Food Hall – a foodie’s paradise that showcases fine, healthy and tasty food and drink from producers, farmers and growers in Bowland, Lancashire and beyond. With the provenance of the produce at the heart of everything on sale, the Food Hall is part farm shop, part deli, part juice bar and part health food shop.

On the same site is Bowland Brewery where a range of ales are brewed (and can be sampled!) as well as The Beer Hall, which is home to one of the longest bars in Britain, stocking 42 hand pulls and a minimum of 24 individual cask beers at any one time. A 20 minute drive from the Derby Arms.

Brindle Distillery

Just a 30 minute drive from The Derby Arms is Brindle Distillery, proud distillers of award winning Cuckoo Gin and craft spirits. All handmade on their Lancashire farm all of the raw ingredients are either from the farm or locally sourced. From making your own gin, to a distillery tour, this really does make a great day out. And if you fancy a tipple or two whilst you are there, let us know and we will arrange a taxi so you can enjoy all the delights they have on offer at the farm.
